What is cloud burst and why it happens

A cloud  burst is a sudden, intense rainfall over a small area in a short period, often leading to flash floods. Typically , a cloud burst drops more than 100mm of rain within an hour , overwhelming the local drainage and causing severe flooding, landslides, and destruction.

Why Does a Cloud burst happen?

Cloud bursts occur when warm, moist air rapidly rises and cools, causing water vapor to condense quickly into heavy rain . This usually happens in mountainous regions where air is forced upwards by the terrain. If the clouds are unable to release rain gradually due to atmospheric conditions, the accumulated moisture is suddenly released all at once, resulting in a cloud burst.
